Having problems with playing region 2 DVD- TV wont work!?

Hey, so my dad bought "Der Junge Lowe" (Young Winston) on ebay, but it only came out in region 2, but i remembered that my PlayStation 2's Gameshark had an ability called "DVD Region Free" where basically you can select which region you want to play a DVD from, load in the DVD and it should work... problem is, it didn't. I think the DVD worked fine, but it said "TV system doesn't match" when it started up... I am using a InFocus ScreenPlay 5700 DLP projector. I really want this to work for my dad, as he is a huge winston churchill fan. So, any idea on how to get this to work?
