I want to live somewhere where everyone grows their own food and cars are a rarity, but where?

i want to be close to "civilization" but besides the religious factor pretty much like the amish do, horses instead of cars, home grown produce, living off the land etc. are there communities like that that arent faith based? i'm wiccan and that would just be awkward.
