Amp level control and b EQ??

Those controls are not volume controls. A gain is used to set the input stage of the amplifier to the output voltage of the head unit. b EQ stuff is just going to distort your signal and when you're cranking it, added to the incorrect setting of the gain, you'll probably blow your sub before long. You should just buy a larger amplifier.
