PLEASE HELP, Is a crook used these days?

They aren't used as much these days as maybe they once were but I always have mine with me at lambing time. They are great if you need to catch a lamb but I find them a little awkward if trying to catch a ewe. Not used as a restraint, more of an extension of the arm, but it takes practise to use one effectively.
